August Birchbox!

I just got my August Birchbox today! Here it is:
This is the pretty shipping box every Birchbox comes in, for those of you that haven't subscribed yet!

Within the pink shipping box is the actual Birchbox. All of the ones I've received so far have come in an identical brown box, with the exception of the Cynthia Rowley one that had a fabulous paper sleeve over it.

When you first open your Birchbox, there's always a large insert that explains the inspiration for the box. This month the inspiration was "innovations". When I first hard that the inspiration for August was innovations, I have to admit I was kind of excited. I wasn't quite sure what I might receive!

Here's the insert with the explanation for August's Birchbox
I love how Birchbox wraps their boxes almost like gifts. Peeling back the tissue paper this is what I saw!

Lumier d'hiver Reconstructing Masque
I was kind of excited to see this hair mask because I have the craziest thick, textured hair and I'm constantly trying out new products to help my hair.

I know it's a little difficult to see all of the ingredients, but I thought it would be nice for anyone considering this product to be able to at least see the majority of the ingredients.

The next product I looked at came in a big envelope. It took me a moment to realize it held a sample of shampoo with a pamphlet of information.

Another item I received that I'm looking forward to learning more about is a powder face wash. I've never used this company, but I use exfoliating washes on my face regularly so this is something I'm interested in.

The Twistband Hair Tie was something I wanted to see, but not something I'm sure I can use. As I mentioned, I have crazy, thick hair and not many hair ties work for me. Thinking about the number of hair ties I've broken with my hair ... yikes!

I love how Birchbox always includes a little wrapped package in each box. Like a surprise within a surprise. So cute!
Here's what was in my little wrapped package:

Caudalie Eye Cream is something I was excited to see because I've used other Caudalie products and loved their performance! The one downside is that they use dimethicone in everything I've seen so far.

Zoya Pandora mini
I was actually kind of excited to see this Zoya Pandora mini polish since it's one color I don't own and one I didn't purchase in my recent order!

Overall Impression: I like everything I got and I'm excited to try it all, the only downside is that I didn't get a full-size item (which I've gotten every other time). Did anything blow my socks off? Not really, but I'm still glad I subscribe regardless and think it's well worth it if you like getting little beauty products to try on a regular basis!

  2. It's so crazy, everyone seems to have gotten different stuff! I paid for a subscription for my mom and she and I got none of the same products, too haha. I'm definitely looking forward to September. They're hit or miss to me, but I can't complain, getting samples in the mail is fun no matter what ;)
